According to multiple sources underworld figure Teefi Butt, real name Khawaja Tareef Gulshan, was killed during police custody in an encounter near Rahim Yar Khan. The Crime Control Department (CCD) confirmed that the suspect, who was wanted in the Ameer Balaj murder case, was fatally shot when his accomplices opened fire on a police convoy.

The CCD reported that Teefi Butt was being transported under high security when armed associates attempted to free him. During the exchange of gunfire, Teefi Butt was killed allegedly by his own men. A police constable sustained injuries in the shootout.

Earlier, reports indicated that Teefi Butt Lahore had been arrested abroad and brought back to Pakistan. Dunya News stated that he was handed over to Punjab Police following coordination with UAE authorities before being transferred to Lahore for interrogation.
